Jennifer Crook & Andrew Cresswell DavisAn evening of songDate: Wednesday 30th May Venue: Ring O Bells, Widcombe (upstairs) Doors: 7.30pm for 8pm show Bath-based singer songwriter Jennifer Crook has surely elevated into "a talent with a white light future" (Musician). Her latest album 'Merry-Go-Round' was recorded in Glasgow with producer and hit songwriter Boo Hewerdine, and features guests like Eddi Reader and Nashville's Darrell Scott. The vivid storytelling, beautiful imagery, and infectious melodies on 'Merry-Go-Round' have earned her excellent reviews, national airplay and a session on BBC Radio 2 with the legendary Bob Harris. As well as her captivating vocals, and sublime harp and guitar playing, Jennifer will be joined for tonights show by local legend Andrew Cresswell Davis of Stackridge/Korgis fame who will be performing songs from his forthcoming album. The combination of Andrew and Jennifer is an inspired one - whether taking the lead or adding their considerable instrumental skills to each others songs, the emphasis is on real songcraft and these two artists compliment each other beautifully. Watch this space for details of Bath's biggest and best street party and family fun day. Once again our streets will be filled with fun, food and frolics. We've got an Olympic theme this time and there will be snail racing, trapeze artists, hula-hooping and kids sporting activities, with the theme being Retro Sporting Heroes from Ancient Greece to now…so get out those long Chariots of Fire shorts! The Farmers' Market proved to be such a success last time that all the stalls have signed up again, plus more. Lady Margaret's Dog Show will once again be a barking mad attraction, plus Her Ladyship has announced she will also be organising a Mr Widcombe contest. As usual there will be several stages. Two new developments will be the wonderfully decorative Melodrome stage with its elaborately painted façade and red velvet curtains, and Not The Pump Room - an elegant palm court café in Natural Theatre's new studio, complete with a Not The Pump Room Trio!
